This is my first nice Half Cent....going in the type set. What are your opinions of the grade?

I think this would get a market grade in the AU range due to those obverse scuffs. Very nice coin with original toning. Very likely it never circulated.

I think it is MS with a possibility of being around 62/63. Possibility a BN. Nice luster!

I don't see any wear or obvious friction in the fields so I'd call it uncirculated. The color is possibly natural but I can't be positive. Many early copper pieces have been recolored to simulate original red luster and sometimes they end up looking like this coin.

Should work fine for your type set.

Did some photoshop tweaking on this coin. I lightened the first one to bring out where the flaws are. The second one more accurately portrays the darkness/color of the coin. It's not quite right as it may appear to be recolored...I believe this is due to my lack of photoshop skills.....plus digital tweaking....in hand the coin does not appear to have been recolored.

Unc details - cleaned recolored sounds good to me.

If this coin still has the original color then I would say ms63 red at least.
