I'm looking to put together date sets of modern Canadian coins taken from circulation and was wondering what's available on the market to store them in. I have complete sets of U.S. coins taken from circulation & I have them in Whitman folders, & am looking for a similar option for Canadian. Options?

I have a full set of Loonies, and a full set of Toonies. I keep the in UNI-SAFE coin albums designed for them. The 2 dollar albums are for date runs of 1996 to date. The loon dollars run from 1987-Current. Very nice way to store them and display them. Good luck.

How about being an obtuse sort of collector?
I did that by building a complete type set of Australian pre decimal coins, (no '30 penny, that was represented by a '25), where
every type was represented by the rarest date for the type.

Find a type set album for that sort of collection instead!

Thanks for the information, Lee8775. Still interested in knowing if any other options are out there, because I'm talking about common modern circulating change, the folders don't have to be expensive archival storage type albums... sel_69l, My type set for Canadian 20th century coinage is almost complete (except for commemoratives, they don't really interest me), all MS grade, so this is just to put together date sets of circulating coinage that I would pull from rolls while CRH'ing...

I'm sort of a anti Folder person. If you look at the back of the slots and they are shiny, that is the glue left over from the manufacturing process. Although many say so what those are only coins from change, still some day they may or could be worth a lot more if not damaged. For the extra cost I'd always suggest Albums.

If you're intent on getting folders, Whitman has folder for Canadian coins. I don't know if they cover all coins or not.

I found a beautiful Canadian coin folder on ebay, which is for all 6 common coins in circulation. Prevously there were 7 circulated coins, but the 50-cent one is no longer in circulation.
Check out the Canadian coin folder on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CANADA-COIN...em2a236ca86b

Dansco used to have a line of push in albums, now out of print, but they have stated for years they were working on a line of supreme albums for Canada. I will buy them when they come out.

I am in the process of removing all my sets from albums/folders and putting them in 2x2's in 2x2 albums.
The folders were the first to get sorted out because of the risk of damage because the coin is open faced in the push in albums.
The albums with the clear slide that covers the coins are a better option but IMHO nowhere near as good as self adhesive 2x2's stored in archival quality 2x2 albums.
I started collecting Canadian 50 cent coins a while back and couldn't find an album for them so I used 2x2's in an album for them, I liked the concept and the look so much I have put 70% ( so far ) of my collection in these.
With the 2x2's you can remove the coin for viewing without ANY danger of harm to it .
With albums/folders there is an element of risk every time you take a coin out.

You can always put them in a Numis album, coins won't fall out, no glue. They've got sheets for small coins all the way to 2X2.

I've decided to go with albums. I really like albums that have cutouts for each coin needed in a series, like Whitman or Dansco albums. So far, the only option like this for Canadian coins that I've seen is Numis albums with Vista pages inside. The albums contain labelled places for each coin needed in a series and I like that. Any thoughts on these albums or any other suggestions? These albums seem a little hard to come by, most Numis albums that I see advertised seem to be of the generic type. Any ideas on the best place to buy them?
