Ok I won this Morgan last night at out monthly coin club meeting. they do a silver dollar drawing every meeting. I was wondering what oyu guys thouhg it would grade at. I am think either AU58 or MS60 but I don't know alot about morgan I only own two the other 2 I had I gaveway or traded to other collecters. I know the collar in the pircture is not that good. I could find my normal light for my silver dollar so had to use a backup. But I hope the detail on the coin will tell you alot. It is prity shiny but not a bright white.

I can't tell if the weakness in the hair above the ear and the eagles breast feather wings is due to wear or a weak strike.

If its wear then I would say a definite AU-58.
If its uncirculated I would say MS-62. In fact I've seen slabbed 63's that had more bag marks than this. However with the hit on the end of the nose I am going to say MS-62.

I would call it BU. I know it might look like it has light wear in the hair above the ear but I think it was a slightly poor strike. The strike on the 1889's was mostly average or below average and they usually have poor luster.Your looks pretty good.

My first instinct was MS 62....so I will go with that.

no more opions thank you guys so far. I tend to agree with somewher between a 58-63 but I am not a very good coin grader yet still working on it. It does seem to have a little bit of a week strike but still has some good details to it. just not a very good picture.
