It looks like there is some sort of peeling on the obverse of the coin. Right by the foot and around the bottom of the dress. I am in the same boat with the above posters, I can't put my finger on anything that suggests they appear fake, but my gut tells me something is wrong. Maybe ask the seller to meet you at a friendly coin shop for a quick opinion? I know of one local coin shop that I don't frequent too often because they tend to only deal in gold coins, but I trust the owner and he has offered to look over coins I bring in, or photos, and he always gives me his opinion and what he'd consider paying. I trust him and he hasn't tried to cheat me at any point. Not sure if that is an option, but in this case I'd get some proof before spending any hard earned money. Report this Post to the Staff
