Do you think it is proper to inhance your coins so they look like a much nicer coin than the one you receive. It happened to me and I am not happy. The coin has a greenish color that looks good with light.I am not happy with this transaction although the seller obviously thinks it is okay to do this. Can I send the coin back or is the proper!

It depends on how it was enhanced......photoshop is a big no-no. If it was lighting used to take a picture, it is often needed to get a clear picture. If the seller doesn't grade the condition of the coin (ie: MS60) and the picture is of the actual coin you received then I would say that you are out of luck.
Talk to the buyer and let him/her know how you feel. Many seller will do whatever they need to make the buyer happy (within reason), and will often accept returns (shipping at your expense).
The best thingthat you can do is ask questions before bidding......you can usually avoid buyers remorse.

What is his return policy? Many ebay sellers will let you return the coin within a certain timeframe, no questions asked, as long as you pay return shipping. I would never buy from a seller who has a NO return policy.

He does have a no return policy but he states the coin looks uncirculated but say it is choice ef45.If you see the coin in hand you are almost certain it was put through photo shop to enhance the coin and fool the buyer.Hope this helps for future buyers.

with beaglebailey and middross If there is a NO RETURNS POLICY (NRP), I will usually walk on by. However I have gotten a really good deal on a NRP a time or two when I knew ahead of time what I was getting into. And definitely ask questions before placing your bid!

I think all of us are guilty of trying to inhance something at some point in time to make it more saleable. When it comes to cars we clean them up to give the illusion that it is better than it actually is. When it comes to coins some people mess with lighting and angles to get that perfect picture. I guess it is a case of Buyer Beware.

Contact the seller and tell him you would like to return the item. I'm sure he will let you return the item, but you will have to pay the return shipping cost. If you feel the coin was not properly descibed or pictured, all the more reason to return. I also try and not purchase from sellers who don't offer a return policy. I regularly sell on ebay and have a no question asked 14 day return policy. I personally believe that you need to actually see your purchase in hand to see if your happy with the item before a sale is complete. I also never or seldom buy from a seller who only shows a picture of one side of the coin. I can never understand sellers with only one picture as there are two sides to every coin? If your not happy with your purchase return it.

I don't have a problem with someone enhancing the picture of a coin... in order to present it in its best light. However if it's not a picture of the coin you received then take the seller ‘back o' the barn.' Return it... and make an issue of it with ebay. And never buy a coin ‘big headaches' from a seller who only posts ‘one' sided pictures.

Doesn't matter what his return policy is. Tell him you will file a SNAD (signifigantly not as described) action with ebay. Usually ebay sides with the buyer. He should refund.

Any decent seller would accept the return. If he/she doesn't, I would do as Neil suggests and file a dispute with ebay or Paypal. You also have the chance to give the seller negative feedback. I have 100% rating and I would want to do whatever it took to keep it that way. Kevin

I wouldn't offer a return policy...its an auction. Someone has buyers remorse and they start sending stuff back. If the item is misrepresented, that's another story.

I think it is totally dishonest to use "Creative Photography" and over state the grade of a coin on an online auction. I recently bought some coins listed as UNC Beautiful coin's, They looked great in the listing and I received highly buffed shiny monstrosities. I unfortunately bid on another coin with the same sort of shonky listing practice before I received the first lot and sure enough the coin I received was buffed as well. I have sent mine back {Still haven't received a refund yet} I suggest you do the same If you think that you have been deceived

I may use favourable lighting to show the coins' beauty the best but I have never photoshopped a coin.....It's a big no-no and very unethical.
