Maybe winning and not paying would be best for all concerned? (well other than the seller....)

I got outbid ( thank the gods ) otherwise I would have had to pay for my bid and swallow the bitter pill of being had

If I found out after bidding that an item was fake I would have no regrets in not paying. If an item is not as described, then you are agreeing to buy "something" but not the coin you are about to be sent.

If I found out that I'd bid on a fake coin, I'd retract the bid and let the seller know exactly why, and if that didn't work, I would not pay and choose the reason, 'not as described'.

Ok that don't look right chief...And is it just my eyes or does the letters etc appear to be inwards on the coin rather that outwards? I know I'm blind but......

Optical illusion Peter Look at something else on the web and then return looking at the coin. You should see it correctly then It sometimes takes the mind a little time to adjust to the pattern of light and shadow and form the correct three dimensional image. Squire

One sure way to tell is to look at the bases of the letters especially in AUSTRALIA,they should all be perfectly straight on the bottom, not curved like the coin in the OP. The T,R,I & last A in AUSTRALIA on this coin are really obviously curved base.

Lucky I didn't win the bidding or I would have had to put a bullet through it. Those little buggers are hard to hit at 100 meters
