This is an edited post because I forgot to mention that the pictures were of two different bills, one normal and the other with the error so I am adding extra info at the bottom of the page.

I have a 2006 Series $5 USA note that has one of the three numeral "5" looks different from the other two. I am attaching a few pics of the Bill. I checked the 5 dollar note for possible counterfit but it had all the authenticated numbers that the new bills have to include the usa $5 written inside the bill.
I am not sure what to call this possible error but I have taken lots of pictures with the $5 note held up to the lighting so that the three numeral "5" will show the difference.

I have also taken some pictures the same way but with another $5 bill that had the correct fives so that the difference can be seen between the two. The error I speak of is the 3rd numeral 5 viewed from obverse or reverse, looks like a S or maybe a warped numeral 5 and depending on how you look at it, looks like a 6.

The serial numbers are eight and they match along with the letter before and after each number on the obverse of the note.

Serial Number: IK 44306739 A. and 27 on the reverse right corner. The pictures aren't the best but the error can be seen in all pictures obverse and reverse (#5, third one looking down while holding the bill with the obverse facing you and held up against a light source)

Anyone know about prior error bills of this sort? Is it legit/rare?

In the first 3 photos, I do see a slight difference, but not in the fourth one. It could be just the way the light hits it or the angle you are taking the photo. If it was the same in all 4 photos, then it might be something.

My apologiesWes. I forgot to mention that the last picture was of a normal $5 bill and the first three before that was of the error $5. Thank you for taking the time to check it out for me though. Much appreciated. I edit this post so it is a little clearer. I'm still learning the ropes. I am really curious to see if anybody has come across such a bill and it is really authentic and possible rare. Most people probably don't look at the new bills in the light when they check them out so they may have something similar. I have been checking every bill inside and out since I noticed that one. Thanks again Wes.

Looks like the last 5 is missing a curve.

Yes, the third one is deffinately different than the other two. I wasn't sure at first but after taking many pictures of it turned every which way and back and front in different lighting, I was sure it was not like the others. I even took a video of it to show that its not funny business, you know and I used the other 5 in the 4th picture as an example in the pics and the video that a norman 5 looks completely different.

I like your collection by the way. It's very impressive. I'm still working on finding more world coins and paper. I don't have anything quite as old or impressive as your collection but I am still working my way there. The oldest coin I am is a 1925 penny I beleive and lots of different world coins, mostly South Korean Wons that I brought back from Korea many years ago. I have coins that I don't even remember where I got them but most of them are probably in spare change. I usually put any coins that look odd of from another country away from the ones I spend. An interesting coin I found in my collection was an Isreal Agora 1960-1980 Large cent that took me a couple of days to narrow down to what country it was from and was it was called because the writing was in a language that I didn't understand and the shape was very different from coins I had seen but was somewwhat similar to other coins in that region.
