I got this back in change and had set it aside along with an Alaska Statehood Quarter, when I got around to putting them into tubes I noticed the reeding was trying to cut into my fingers! Then I checked to see if I scored another proof, nope Denver mint, but looks like it was made yesterday.

So out of mint set, UNC roll of 76ers, dispersed collection?

I still save the bicentennials but this is the most MS one I have collected from the wild.

What are your thoughts?

You may need to adjust your white balance on your picture, because the quarter has a light brass coloring. But I would guess someone broke open a mint set.

I agree, most likely out of a mint set. Decent strike for the series!

I don't save 1976 quarters anymore but that one is in very nice condition so I would put it in a 2x2 not a tube.Congrats on your find.
