cairns New Member Australia 0 Posts	Posted 06/30/2012 10:40 pm I am looking for values on the following - Australian pennies - 1911,1912,1913,1915,1916,1917,1919,1920,1921,1922,1923,1924,1927,1929,1933,1935,1939,1941,1942,1943,1948,1949,1950.1951,1952,19531959,1961,1962,1964 Australian Half-pennies - 1914,1917,1919,1921,1923,1924,1926,1927,1932,1938,1941,1942,1943. All coins were found while cleaning my stepmothers home as a part of my inheritance ... I have no idea what they are worth but would be enormously grateful if I could gain some idea if someone can help. They have not been cleaned but do carry the test of time with alot of green coating and I am hesitant to attempt to clean them in case this devalues them. Can anyone help? DavidUK Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2624 Posts	Posted 06/30/2012 10:48 pm No definately dont attempt to clean them as no doubt their value will be lower once you finish. Thats quite a list and probably best to post it in the Australian section...if you can post photo's or put them in your scanner then that will help you get a more accurate price since condition is a big part in valuation. I just checked a reference book and can tell you that you don't have the crown jewels (it appears a 1930 penny would have been the jackpot for you) the prices in that book are outdated but to give you a ball park figure I estimate in the region of around £10 (English) for the earlier examples if they are immaculate (10% of that if they are worn) gradually decreasing through the years to very little for the more recent ones. A good question to ask is what to do about verdigris (that green stuff) maybe ask that in the general coin forum...its not a problem I have encountered so I defer that question to someone with more experience. dcoin Valued Member Australia 191 Posts	Posted 07/01/2012 03:08 am 1923 is the only coin there worth any sort of money (assuming they are all in average condition), however given that it seems you are missing many semi-key dates, I would be suprised if your 1923 halfpenny is real, but if you post pictures someone on this forum would be able to tell you, real halfpennies in average condition range from $600-2500 for 95% of examples.
