Do all of the Braided Hair Half Cents have the squared off rims?

Beautiful coin. I would say AU-58. The color, however, looks a bit suspect to me, too consistent and uniform. I've seen so few of these with natural color though that I don't have a good baseline from which to judge. No matter what, it's a great example of an interesting denomination. Nice addition. Wish I had one like it.

Did you weigh the coin (5.44 grams)? Of course that is if you have it in hand. The color looks an overall dark brown which is desirable, just make sure it is not a steely bluish color which I have seen on many chinese counterfeits. The rim does look kinda crisp. Weigh the coin!!!

Could be MS, but like OneBowl I'm having trouble with the color. Something just seems off. The coin also seems too perfect to me.

high mint state coins have squared off rims... the color is not natural...but not unattractive!

I think it is at least a high AU with a possibility of being MS. The color does look a bit suspect. It looks a bit too dark.

Recolored for sure. The color is totally unnatural. AU55 appears right.

Don't understand why someone would bother/take the risk with recoloring a coin that looks to be in pretty awesome shape detail wise.

It may have been recolored because it was cleaned at one time.

usually if someone dips a copper coin they will turn a salmon pinkish color and the only way to get rid of that color is to recolor the coin. If the color is a good representation of the color in hand I will lean towards the recolored theory but I must say I have seen some that weren't recolored that were almost solid black in color so I am not 100% sure about the coin being recolored. About the grade I think its MS from the pictures as I do not see any wear on the coin at all
