CC coins hold a special place in many a numismatists heart. What do you guys think of this one graded by PCGS?

Thanks!

Reverse looks more like a F, obverse VG. Incomplete LIBERTY on obverse holds it back from a F. However, Seated coinage is not my area of expertise. I'll go with VG10, maybe F12.

I'm one of them. It's glorious. F15? VF20, maybe? Obverse-limited, but with that being the case I have to question the original strike.

I will go with f-12. The shield is weak but it has strong face and drapery detail. Sweet CC half

Wow, I guess that having a full LIBERTY was the prerequisite for a F-12 is pretty much "out the window". I did not think that it would warrant this grade but...

I am contemplating this one for my "with motto" in my 7070.

Looks like a nice F12. I thought it might go higher before seeing the slab.

PCGS does NOT require a full LIBERTY on Seated coins to award a grade of Fine or better. I think your coin is fairly, even conservatively graded by their standards. I could easily see it as F-15.

Here is my 1877-CC half, graded VF-25 by PCGS. Interesting to note the differences in the mintmark: the OP's coin has a smaller CC while my coin has a larger version. There may also be another version with even bigger letters.
