I voted for the half dollar. The coloring of the Half Cent is suspect in my humble opinion. Of course seeing it in hand may remove that suspicion.

I would take the half dollar over the Half Cent.

Both look nice, but I'd take the half dollar first.

I would personally choose the half dollar. The toning is unique if you're into that, but the Half Cent looks a bit off. Not sure, but I can't seem to get a grasp on it.

I voted for the Half Cent. But with further information I could make a different choice. If the Half Cent was $50 and the SL half was $300 ..knowing those numbers would help me make a better decision. I like the Half Cent because I see very little .. if any wear. The half dollar looks very nice also, much better than my 1858. When I am faced with a decision like this I try to reseach what it would cost to purchase a better example of the same coin. I also look at what which is the better deal. Lastly, I step back .. and try to decide which coin I would like in my collection and not want to upgrade it later.

Buy them both, you can go without food for a few weeks. Both coins are beautiful, hard to judge copper color in a photograph, I trust you have seen both coins in hand?

I voted for the half. The originality of the piece just screams at you and the Half Cent looks too perfect to me. Ed ANA LM-3175

I would vote for the Half Cent. That thing is amazing. However, it may be too amazing as others have stated.

I would choose the Half Cent if it came back as not altered surfaces.

I'm a copper nut but, would have to go with the Half here. The Half Cent IMO, has been recolored but, if the price was right, I would consider.

The Half Cent is almost too perfect, as if someone put shoe polish on it? If it were in a non details slab, I would jump all over that Half Cent. If the Half Cent does not come back with an altered rating, MS63BN would be my guess. The half dollar is nice too. Assuming it came back with a clean bill of health, I'd guess AU55 or maybe even MS61 or 62 if that apparent wear is really just toning? What price is being asked for each?
