Far better than an F-12. Love the sharply cut date on the back and the strongly veined leaves. It will not go below F-15 and you have an excellent chance for VF-20. This particular series does not grade according to traditional standards.

If you can see 6 of the 8 jewels on the kings band the coin would be VF. That would be a must to qualify for VF. Can't really tell from the pictures. This series does grade different than traditional, but this usually applys only to higher grade coins because of the poor strikes. Seldom does this apply to lower grade coins of this series. Great looking key date nickel.

This series is notorious for weak strikes, but you need a discrepancy between what you see for detail and preservation of lustre and lack of wear on other points of the coin. Without the coin in hand, your coin looks like F-12 to me, maybe F-15.

Here's one

and another

Both graded by PCGS,by their standards you did extremely well.IMO by the time a coin reaches a VF state of wear there isn't enough lustre remaining to offset a weak strike.
F15 for your coin,a good buy.

^^^ Painfully poor grading by PCGS. And the seller labels one "borderline XF". MAN!

I think both of those are F-12. I agree the OP's purchase is F-15.
