Are they worth hanging on to? I know they're just face value now but will they ever be rare?

If its not a very high grade its basically just a quarter. Obviously that could change in time as Mercury dimes were once just dimes, but its unlikely thered be a huge spike in the near future

Many people have thought along the same lines and decided to hoard them when they were first released. After time went on and no price increases were being seen, many were eventually released back into circulation. I'm sure many were saved in high grades and don't think there will be a premium for a while.

I found 17 solid rolls of nice AU Bi quarters, placed them on Craigslist best offer over $10 a roll. Months go by not a single bite, so I cashed out.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

Better to put the money into something that would appreciate faster. These are losers, too many made and no demand for a circulated coin.

There's a pawn shop here that cant stay stocked on the Ikes @ $3. His .25 regularly go for $12 a roll. The lure I believe, is the double dated pieces, along with the "new design.

I can see them going for $12 per BU roll, but not circulated ones. Circulated ones will always be face value in our life times. Too many were saved in BU rolls and mint sets to make the circulated ones worth hanging on to.

I stashed away a couple of rolls back when they came out and am still waiting for them to appreciate!

I save them but that is only because my grandfather always did and they are sentimental to me. I am sure I will cash them out some day but for now it is just a little savings account.

I save all of them I come across but it's just because I really love the design. They'll never be worth any significant premium, especially in circulated grades. Just too many made and too many hoarded.

I saved the ones my grandfather gave me too, sentimental to me as well. Actually I don't see too many in change these days, it's surprising when I do. I don't save them though, I spend away.

I save any I come across in circulation because I really enjoy the design and the history behind them even though I know they probably won't ever be worth anything (difference between collecting and investing right? Lol).
But I also have a proof and a P uncirculated that I picked up at FV at a coin show earlier this year from a bargain bin, couldn't find the D uncirculated though, one day.

Just wanted to share that I saved another P from circulation today, not one of the best looking but a win nonetheless.
