I don't see a problem with telling everyone who the seller was.

Wow they are crappy; on the bright side did you look for rotated ones... look-look! Dude I had a whole bag of these with very few marks, if you want one just say so, I will pick one out for you tho I am at the end of the bag. There was a picture of one I took last time on this thread https://goccf.com/t/109280

These do not look uncirculated. Even though some marks are common on rolled coins these coins exhibit way too many to be uncirculated What was the security company that rolled coins assuming they wre coat of arms or were these Australia Day 50c coins from RAM Roll?

I think the seller is mandm-coins
"ROLL of Brilliant Unc" this seller uses this wording for the heading of the listings which is a bit deceptive as these are only security rolls not mint rolls. And they could have been made yesterday and you have no guarantee what's inside so how can they claim they are unc.
A pet peeve of mine is that the same pictures are used over and over for repeat listings.
The 2010 50c are COA

Thanks for the offer AC but I usually buy a few rolls every year to add to my roll collection & others to open ,i did open the other roll I got from this seller & the majority of the roll are pretty good, not UNC but close. The rolling or counting machines they use really chop up the rims. & they are CoA & the roll was a Chubb Security roll.

Security Rolls are always going to have the 'what-if' factor associated with them when it comes to the quality of the coins inside. The only way to know for sure is to open them up, yet, by doing so, in many cases you destroy the very reason you buy them I've often debated the value of obtaining security for this very reason...it reminds me of the discussion a while back where a Federation 50c security roll did not contain UNC coins. With RAM issues you at least have the knowledge that coins are UNC As far as the seller is concerned I think everyone should remember they do not have x-ray vision and cannot see inside the roll. Unless they sell rolls like the one listed above on a regular basis I feel they should have the benefit of the doubt - after all, they can only go from their past experiences to determine quality. Put yourself in seller's position....how would you have described it? A proper photo of item for sell would have been nice and perhaps the only point of contention. If you let them know of what you found and they continue to list as UNC without a note of warning, then yes, seller should then be avoided.
That's my 2 bobs worth

Those are crap. You have every right to bag the seller to everyone and nuke the heck out of his feedback. That's what I'd do.

I don't think any seller or dealer should list "security rolls" as Brilliant Unc. Apart from the two end coins, they have absolutely no way of knowing what's inside, so to list them as Unc is deception to say the least, and you might even go so far as to call it downright fraud. If I was selling a security roll, that's exactly how I would describe it and there would be pictures of both end coins. If a seller deliberately mis-represents what is for sale, by using an image of another item which is NOT the one for sale, they're crooks. End of story. I now have a new entry in my list of ebay Germs.

Yes,all the above & more thoughts were swimming around in my head yesterday & last night.
One of the main things that upset me in this whole thing was the sellers response to my message.
Sorry to hear about the 50 cent roll. In all the years, I've been doing these rolls this is the first time I've come across anything like this. It could be that the machine packing the coins had a problem, and after being fixed, any coins being packed that could have been damaged, were just put back to be repacked. Best I can do is offer you a discount on any future purchases.
I doubt very much that I would have gotten that response if I had paid through Paypal but no stupid me paid through direct deposit as the seller requested, that will never happen again I can assure you of that,it's paypal or nothing for me from now on. I thought very long & very hard on this, all the what if's & but's all come back to ,why did the seller insist on bank deposit on this particular transaction ? when he never has before.

I always try to see things from both sides of the coin and therefore reach conclusions from a balanced perspective Judging from the response you received apppleangel I feel the seller is not after repeat business - though a credit is better than nothing I would have simply refunded your money and written it off in accounting system. From my experience seller's sometimes insist on bank deposit if price was low - was this the case? You still have every right to say no regardless of what a seller demands. I'm sure we have all had bad experiences from purchasing items on ebay...that's the price we pay for getting coins cheaper. We all learn from it and be more weary in the future, and this forum serves as a great place where we can share our experiences and collectively be wiser in our coin collecting pursuits

Quote: From my experience seller's sometimes insist on bank deposit if price was low - was this the case? Well no,i don't think they were cheap,$19 each for the 50 cent rolls $10 for the 2011 20 cent volunteers roll, all up $63 so as you can see he also overcharged on postage as it only cost him $11.20 in a 3KG parcel post bag.
