Does anyone have any coin roll hunting tips? Or a good system they go by? I find that a lot of banks won't give you boxes of coins or take boxes of coins unless you have an account with them and even then, I still get a lot of trouble with them.. overall I just dump and pick up coins in a really random fashion.

I have called BMO and CIBC and get boxes from them and I am not a member. They say as long as it dosen't become a regular thing I can do that. I eventually became a member with CIBC. I am a student so no charges but if this is a private bank they can make up any rules they want but if it is a more popular bank such as Scotia or BMO you sould not have a problem.

open an account, tell them what you are doing, ask if its ok. its better to be up front than to kick up a stink when they shut you down. plus if they know what you are doing its not a problem to ask for older customer wrapped rolls (instead of getting a mint box). most tellers are VERY helpful if you treat them the way you would expect to be treated. I've heard of tellers actually putting aside different rolls "for that coin collecting" guy and even calling them when something interesting comes in.

bring the teller a tim hortons /starbucks $2 gift card. you would be amazed how quick they get to know you and how the will actually be happy to see you.

use one branch to pick up and 4 other branches to re-deposit. use a different dump bank each week, that way each branch will only see you once a month and probably wont get to frustrated with you.

when dumping mark your rolls with your intials and you will be able to track if branches are swapping coin boxes instead of ordering new ones. nothing sucks worse than getting already searched rolls.

finally, dont tell the tellers you are searching for or finding silver! nothing is worse than educating and creating inside competition!

have fun!
