Probably you may be able to smell what hot coins are at the moment?

Personal question: I ordered a group 7 big box with 1st and 2nd coins last monday. Does it mean it is also backordered? I did not see "backordered" sign by then though it is there now.

"Our Sincerest Apologies...
We have experienced significant backorder problems with many Royal Canadian Mint products so far this spring/summer. We have been backordered since launch on the Aster/Bumble Bee 25-cent coin, the Lucky Loonie proof silver dollar (colorized with rings), and the cases for the 7-coin group of 7 silver coins. We have not received any of the products mentioned at all. In regards to the Dinosaur glow-in-the-dark 25-cent coin and the Two-Loons 1oz silver coin, we received a small number of coins that we initially ordered, and have since been waiting for our remaining orders to come in from the Mint. On all of these mentioned products, we have experienced a lot of complaints and inquiries from customers wanting to know where their order is and when they will receive it. We have received no firm date from the Mint as of today (July 12) as to when we can expect to receive the coins we have ordered with them. While we empathize with our customers, we have no control over when the Mint sends us products. Again, we assure our customers that the delay is not in any way under our control. We have confirmed orders with the Mint for all coins we have sold to customers. All customers who have a confirmed order with us will get the coins they have ordered, once we have received our stock from the Royal Canadian Mint. We apologize for all of the inconvenience this has cause our customers.

Yesterday this popped up when visiting gatewest/Albern, somehow I found this comforting.

Now...not so much.

Nothing is working right at the Mint, Yesterday I received a response to an email sent at the beginning of May 2012.
That was pure correspondence, no personal business attached to the topic at all!
Is the mint in the middle of a move to the new facilities right now? Anyone?

@RogerD: That happened to me as well, I sent them an email over 3 months ago, and got a reply about 2 weeks ago. The ridiculous part is in the reply, it showed the date I sent my original email was 2 weeks ago. It's like my email have gone into a black hole and suddenly pop up in their systems 2 months later. Also, if you look at the invoices they ship with their coins, the order date and ship date are always very close (within a day or two) even if it got delayed for months. I consider that cheating.. if someone do an audit of Mint's efficiency, their score might show up as perfect, but the reality is they SUCK!

Sorry I sounded so angry....

I finally got my last two coins from my Feb 2012 order earlier this week. The interesting thing was that for the last month, every time they shipped a coin from that order I would get a notification e-mail saying 'Your order has been cancelled as per your request'. By the third time I stopped phoning to ask what was going on.

Yesterday I came to the realization that this is a hobby and I do not need to buy from the RCM. So if anyone wants there is a spare Bateman, 2 loons, mantis and 25th Loon to order. The F15 sub is from 2011 is still not sorted, and honestly I have sent back at least 4 coins in one year due to defects.

Time to take up a new hobby, maybe needlepoint.
