Bought our house a few months back and are finally finishing cleaning the garage out since my wifes mother couldn't do it in time. It was my wifes grandparents house who passed away 4 years back and they were more or less hoarders. BUT, did some major cleaning last night and this is what I found. 3 rosie dimes, 1 80% canadian, and a 22 Peace. Also found a 1957 Silver Certificate One Dollar Bill & A bunch of 1 and 2 cent stamps that look to be from the early 40's or 50's, and in the back I'm about 92% positive I found a pair of gold cuff links inside the original jewelers box. Not a million dollar find like you were most likely expecting but, I was very excited to find what I did considering everything in the garage was going to the dumps.

Surprisingly, the stamps have little value. I had a whole bunch that an uncle gave me. Except for a couple, I was told the others were just worth the face value. Nice silver.

Thanks! My boss used to be somewhat of a stamp collector, and he checked his books and the ones I have may be worth up to $2 or $3 a piece!

I have a 1935 $100 gold certificate that my grandmother gave me. Because it has a tellers stamp on it, it's worth $100. Wish she would have redeemed it for five double eagles!

No one mentioned the cufflinks! The coins are nice but the cufflinks look like they are the most valueable bit (pressumably quite heavy from the looks of it)
I am quite fond of cufflinks (I have quarter krugarands in mine) but if you havent got any cufflink-shirts weigh them up, trade them in and you can buy a nice coin or two.

David, I have no use for the links, but tomorrow I will be bringing them in to a jeweler to get an appraisal and see if they are truly gold. And if so I will be definitely be cashing it into some silver!
