My latest purchase. Don't have it in my hands yet but I really hope the woody characteristics are there irl as well. Better pictures will be posted when I get it How would you grade it, and as always, thanks in advance. Edited by epikur 07/15/2012 4:36 pm

Would need to see the obverse as well to get a grade. Reverse looks AU-58 to MS-63 based on the small fuzzy photo.
Guess I should have waited for that photo. From what I can see I would guess AU-58 as it looks like rub on the high points especially the cheek bone and above the ear.

I'd say it's probably an AU58 at least. It has a nice wood grain effect.

I can't tell from the pics. Does it have any underlying cartwheel luster?
I really dig the woody effect!

What a beauty.. With the new pics, I would say looks more MS-60ish or so, nice looking wheat's... love the 'woody' look.

It has some luster..problem is, I only have a compact camera to shoot with, so the pictures never makes the coins justice...I'll try to take some better pics later in the day.. Maybe I'll sell this coin and get a good systematic camera for the money:P and yeah, the woody effect is awesome. that was one of the reasones I got the coin...that, and the really low price. And it seems like I have the same horizontal S as the other 1909-S in the grading section...didn't even think of that. Very cool
