I mentioned in another thread that I acquired my 1837 Reeded Edge Bust Half and a 1945-P Cracked Skull War Nickel. What does the CCF think about this raw beauty? The lamination goes all the way down, just right of center.

...and some shift doubling (bottom of the mint mark) from the reverse, with a touch of the discoloration peeking through from the front delamination at the R in PLURIBUS.

It's a beauty! I hate to say what my war nickles look like. I still like em though. Nice pickup.

I read somewhere that a lot of the War Nickels had these "laminations" in the planchets due to an improper mix of the silver alloy. I have another a 1943-P, but it's not an UNC.
