The other day I was at the local convenience store picking up a drink when I spotted a clipped penny in the take a penny leave a penny bin. I took it and left another penny in its place. I am wondering if this coin is a true error coin or if it is faked. If it is the real deal it's my first clipped coin!

Yep, it's real. Notice the blakesley effect (where the rim opposite the clip is weak) and the punch and rip on the edge.

Im going to have a LOT of trouble not searching this cent tray every time I see it now because a week before I found the clipped penny I found this 1964 penny in the same tray! (I know It's not rare but it is the nicest one I have found for that year)
