My favourite coin atm. I bought it 12 years ago as aUNC.

I have coming in the mail which I had to order from Wizard, some lighthouse Quadrums I was going to put this in one, then keep it in a 2x2 intercept shield (IS) cardboard box (which I've not seen for sale in Australia). I'm a bit paranoid about taking it out of the Cardboard 2x2 flip. Are Quadrums definitely safe?

I have nitrile gloves but I haven't worked out how I'm going to get it into the Quadrum's insert without touching the face of the coin. Because it's going to be stored in an IS box, does it really matter if the Quadrums are not completely airtight?

I handle all my notes and coins with clean bare hands...I don't think you'll have a problem...and I've handled some of the finest pieces with my bare hands, as do all the dealers I know. If you feel more comfortable wearing gloves, then that's fine also. Either way, as long as your hands are clean. I'm no expert, but the experts I know, don't use them.

I would suggest wearing gloves to handle your coins. Especially if they are quality coins you want to store in 2x2s.
Fingerprints = bad

For peat sake I wear gloves when handling large amounts of circulation coins, I mean ick do you know where they have been.

I have never used any type of foam inset holder before; all I know are 2x2s

I would think that the foam holder would be safe for coins, unsure how they are held into place, are they held away from the outside of the holder.

Since you have such a nice coin, a suggestion may be to get it put into a slab. Graded or ungraded.

If you want to store the coin in high security (for example, a safe), apart from the bulk of your collection, a screw capsule is the way to go.

Most of the major dealers have a selection of these at a reasonable cost.

At a pinch, a screw capsule of this size will fit in an album pocket.
