How much different are they? There's about a $60 difference. How much more do you get from the 250?

My friend and I were just playing around with a treasure sensor 4000, and it was REALLY sad. It doesn't sense certain metals that we put right in front of it! It's apparently a $30 toy. I need an upgrade if I'm ever going out again!

There's more search features on the 250 and you can discriminate the type of treasure you're looking for. It's the best all around metal detector for the money and there's actually deals on them right now. They have a package to sell with headphones, carry bag, reference book and etc. for about the price up just the detector. I would say 95% of the beginning detectors opt for the 250 over the 150. MountainMan2 on this forum found a $20k+ 1870CC Seated half dollar with an ACE250 if you want a little more incentive :)

Yeah, that ad comes up on google. How are they selling that cheaper than the manufacturer AND giving a few nice freebies? It seems to good to be true!

Make sure you buy from a credible source, DON'T by from Indonesia etc, last year they had a completely fake website "selling" detectors. I don't care how good the site "looks" ask around.(kingsmetaldetector)<beware they are still on sites like Alibaba etc.

Yes I would get the Ace 250, it's an entry into "real" metal detectors. I can't comment on the 150 though.
Like it was mentioned, they sell the Ace 250 in a package, with a Garret bag and two search coils etc. I think it was a "sport" package or something.

Kellyco has two of their own packages available, different then the "Garret" package I mentioned above.

Package 1 - $212.45
• Finding Treasure State by State Guide
• Nippon III Lightweight Headphones
• Non- Metallic Composite Digger
• Lockback Folding Knife
• Pro Orange Dot Gloves one sided
• 6x Pocket Magnifying Combo
• String Back Pack
• Ace 150/250 Instructional DVD
• 2 Pocket Coin Pouch/Apron w/ Thin Pocket for Probes
• Trial Subscription to Lost Treasure Magazine

or Package 2 - $247.15
• Sidekick Tools and Recovery Pouch
• FiberComp 2 in 1 Combo Digger/Sifter
• Pro Orange Dot Gloves one sided
• Finding Treasure State by State Guide
• Nippon III Lightweight Headphones
• 16 Function Field Knife
• 2 Pocket Coin Pouch/Apron w/ Thin Pocket for Probes
• Ace 150/250 Instructional DVD
• 9 Bulb LED Flashlight
• New Successful Coin Hunting
• Trial Subscription to Lost Treasure Magazine

Neither kit has the extra coil, but you might be able to get it somewhere else.
Regardless, you can save a few bucks by getting the extras in the kit.
Bascialy ready to go aside from maybe batteries.

So if you can get that Ace 250 package for $212, there is not much sense in settling for less.

Here is the "Garret" sports package I mentioned.

As you can see, the detector fits into the bag, as opposed to the backback. It also has the second coil.

Garret-150-Vs-250

Now, to confuse you even more, Kellyco has made their own "Sports" package for the Ace.

Kellyco sports package 1 - $297.45
• 9 x 12" ACE PROformance Search Coil
• Finding Treasure State by State Guide
• Lockback Folding Knife
• TreasureSound Headphones
• NEW! All-Purpose Backpack
• Ace Rain and Dust Cover
• String Back Pack
• Ace 150/250 Instructional DVD
• 2 Pocket Coin Pouch/Apron w/ Thin Pocket for Probes
• 6x Pocket Magnifying Combo
• Non- Metallic Composite Digger
• How to Find Lost Treasure
• Trial Subscription to Lost Treasure Magazine

Kellyco Sports package 2 - $330.15
• 9 x 12" ACE PROformance Search Coil
• NEW! All-Purpose Backpack
• TreasureSound Headphones
• Finding Treasure State by State Guide
• Pro Orange Dot Gloves one sided
• FiberComp 2 in 1 Combo Digger/Sifter
• Ace Rain and Dust Cover
• New Successful Coin Hunting
• 9 Bulb LED Flashlight
• Ace 150/250 Instructional DVD
• How to Find Lost Treasure
• 2 Pocket Coin Pouch/Apron w/ Thin Pocket for Probes
• 16 Function Field Knife
• Trial Subscription to Lost Treasure Magazine

So you have 5 decent Ace 250 packages to choose from that are around $300 and under. (Plus taxes and shipping if applicable)
