ebay is a good place especially for graded coins if you have those. You can look up what you have for the completed listing to get an idea of what they sell for for a quick sale or ask a price you want and see if anyone will buy it for that if youre willing to wait

Only problem with any of the online auctions, you will eat up 15 to 20 percent of final value in auction and paypal fees.

All the auctions are risky. If its a real big money high value coin a place like heritage may be better.

Overall though I feel all the coin auction sites and ebay end up fetching around the same price aside from the true rarities. Youll eat some money on ebay with the fees, but on heritage or the auctions that have a buyers fee instead of sellers buyers keep that in mind for how high they bid

Heritage Auctions is pretty good, you can send them your coin photos and they will have someone grade them if not already graded. I've done this to get a better idea of what I should be paying for ancients at the LCS.

Just sign up to receive their newsletter and to bid, this will give you the ability to have them value your coins.

That is rather a tuff question though. So easy to buy coins, but selling them is a completely different story. And not just with coins, cars, a house, stamps, etc. are always easy to buy, but selling sometimes is horrible. On Tv all the time you see those adds to buy and sell houses but the only ones making money on that are the ones selling the ways to do that.
With coins you can find a coin store, coin show, on line dealers, places like ebay and you'll always find you get a lot less than you thought. Most people look up values in the Red Book, the PCGS web site, Numismedia, etc and come away with thinking that is what they'll get for their coins. Seldom works that way. That is what you'll pay for them, not selliing them, unless your good at places like ebay.
If your not in a hurry, continue posting here until you get the amount needed for sales. Possibly a lot lees customers than ebay, but usually a more honest group of people.

Ah, yes, you just acquired a collection, no?

I suggest you try selling here. ebay would be a daunting task and you may not get money that represents the coins worth.
