Well, I think a lot of people probably share some of his feelings of frustration with the folks in Washington.
However, and I want y'all to know this is just my opinion, I think his problem with the distribution method the US Mint uses for the ASE is, well...and I could go on and talk about this for at least another 10 minutes or so seeing as I'm completely incapable of self-editing and focusing my own thoughts...much ado about nothing.
Thank God I just had it on in the background while doing some finish carpentry measurements or else that quite possibly would have been the most worthless 11 minutes of my life ever.
It took him over 4 minutes before he started explaining what the purpose of his video is all about. Maybe its my ADD, but I could not concentrate on this rant.
I respect his opinion and his service to our country but that does not mean that I have to share his opinion.
Here is THE basic fact in all this. Gold and silver, from whatever source, are economic power in the hands of the people. They are REAL money and not this fiat paper crap that the Fed and US Treasury collude to manufacture out of thin air in unlimited quantity.
Having silver and gold in our possession is to OUR benefit, not the governments'. As a free person, I have the freedom to buy as much gold and silver as I can afford and it bothers me not one bit to convert as much of this paper junk into gold and silver as I can, while I can, and from whatever source that I can, including ASEs. Silver IS silver and buying it benefits ME. This is why I buy ASEs, Maples, bars, rounds, and US 90% silver coins.
As a patriot, I love my country but question whether or not the US government is worthy of my respect let alone my allegiance. It is trying mightily not to be worthy of my respect. Every time the government attempts to circumvent the US Constitution, it degrades itself in the minds of all American patriots, IMO. The place to confront the government is the ballot box and we will have a wonderful opportunity to do just that this November.
Be that as it may, I will buy gold and silver not because doing that does or does not support the government, the treasury department, or the mint but because it benefits me and my family. If someone else chooses not to buy ASEs, that is fine with me. They have the right and the freedom to make that choice and I support them in that. I choose to buy silver, do not care what the source is, and that is my right.
Buying ASEs is a lot less support for the government than is paying taxes. I wonder if the gentleman in the video supports the government via paying his taxes. I would bet that he does.
Thanks, IGE. I ran a bit long on my response but sometimes things like this just seem to touch a nerve.
My Gram was a great lady. She was poorly educated but incredibly wise in the ways of the world. She would have said that this fellow was "cutting off his nose to spite his face". Boycotting ASEs is probably doing more damage to his own personal financial preps than it is to the US government.
Besides, is there now or has there ever been a government with which we can all agree all the time? Nope, sorry, such a thing has never existed and probably won't until we each have our very own planet all to ourselves.
