I started collecting when I retired in 2003 and I picked up some great deals on ebay.I look for varities mostly from your information on this site that dealers and sellers that are not up on varities.I recently purchased a 1858 full vine that was sold for 50% trends. If I wanted to sell this do you think a coin show would be the best place or ebay? Looking for your opinions please.

I would put it on ebay with a reserve. Full vines appear on about 1 in 25 cents dated 1858, so they are somewhat scarce. It is the demand for this variety that is uncertain. Got a picture?

Dies OA2/RA3. Of the four full vine reverse dies, this is the most common. Accounts for about 2% of the 1858 mintage. Nice coin. Looks VF or EF from just the reverse. What did NGC call it?

I must clarify why I said CCCF or ICCS because they are more recognized in Canada as opposed to the US.

Looking at your photo on my phone, I would say 45. Could be a tad higher, but tough to judge from a phone screen.

NGC often (but not always) sucks at grading circulated Canadian.

Thanks. I'll warn you, Victorian cent varieties are habit forming.

Nice coin. I'd say it grades an EF-40.
