Try taking it with indirect light, from your photos, your coin could be anywhere gVF to a low-end UNC - I couldn't be more specific without seeing the lustre.

aUNC-UNC, personally I would go UNC, unfortunately the coin has been cleaned (although it doesn't look like it has been cleaned harshly).

doesn't look cleaned to me at all. I think the missing detail in the band is due to a weak strike not wear. The reverse is real nice! Walter is right though. It could grade anywhere in that range and without it in hand its hard to tell with this one.

dcoin is either noticing the surface damage throughout the exposed obverse surfaces which could be caused by cleaning (but bagging causes this effect too), or the hairlines near the legs of the emu, these are die polishing marks characteristic of the year.
It might've been cleaned, but I wouldn't be able to say for certain from the photos.

I was referring to the 'X' and the 'I' on the obverse, they appear to have toning next to the letters yet the surfaces seem untoned on the rest of the coin. Plus the coin seems a little yellow/light green (but that's probably your lighting.

All your photos are under uniform lighting, this will hide surface damage (or it will show as discolouration). I generally avoid purchasing coins from photographs such as these as they can hide cleaning hairlines and other types of surface damage. Here's an example of what I consider an ideal photo. It doesn't make the coin look as good as it shows every little defect, but it's much more useful in grading a coin. I achieve this by mounting the camera at 90 degrees to the coin and everything on auto with the flash on - no additional lighting is used. I photograph all my coins like this except for mirror proofs.

ooo shiny, nice coin :) The natural light brings out the detail the best, you can see emu feathers. I don't think any type of pre decimal coin I own you can see the emu feathers.

he he just realised your coin was in a 2x2, was so intently checking out the detail that I didn't realise. It must be holding some static or have something inside the 2x2 because each different time you take a pic it has some dust or fluff on it. I don't think it's on the coin.

I think if you really want to show the surface of the coin, don't you just tilt it on an angle? That's how I look for marks of a coin.
