When I first signed on and checked out the errors forum, I said, "No way!" I was astounded that Chuckster had found another DDR on a 1983 today! (Nice find to him by the way! ) Today, I found a 1983 DDR as well and I believe that it is the one in the topic title. I know the next responses are going to be . Sadly, I no longer have a digital camera (long story). My phone camera cannot capture it (believe me I tried). However, it is identical to the one in the below link, even though it is brown and a little bit more worn. Can you guys tell me what its rarity is and what it is worth (if anything)? Any help would be great. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed ... Without photos opinions on grade/value are impossible. Congratulations on your find. David

Since you have the coin in hand and if you think it's "the one" It's time to buy a new camera. The value of the coin justifies the purchase of the camera. John1

A little confused here. You stated that yours is like the one posted. That is an 002. The 001 is very easy to spot in hand. Even with bad eyesight it sticks out pretty well.

Try putting a loupe in front of the camera lens.

Those pics are to blurry. Need a better camera. The coin is valuable enough to justify getting a camera, as John1 said.

Sorry for the bad quality, but they're the best I can do and I hope they help. If YOU cannot see it in your images, then we definitely cannot. No sense posting them.

Ok, I know that this thread kind of died, but I just discovered that I have a scanner and that I can scan coins with it... I scanned the coin in question for this topic, and here is the resulting picture. What would this grade, and would it be worth sending in to ANACS?

Pics are just a bit better but it looks like the DDR. I think you need better pics to get an accurate grade though. Maybe it's time for a usb microscope? You can get a so-so one for under $50. John1
