I brand new to coin collecting. I found this penny in a roll I bought off ebay. I can't figure out what this penny is. It has the same back as an indian head, but the front looks nothing like anything I can find on the web.

kind of looks like a civil war token. Might have said "not ONE CENT" on the back. The not would be small.

I thought so, the obverse appears for this Civil War token 0143 second on the top left.

EDIT - here is wikipedia on CWT

Yes, it is definitely a CW token. Very worn and only worth a couple bucks in that condition
