The 2 area's are raised. I can't tell what is in there though. It also looks like a woody.

if they are raised it could be damage to the die. Feeder Finger Damage maybe. If there is actually something IN the coin then that Would be a strike through with foreign object still imbedded.

These are not struck through - they are gouges in the coin - damage.

If you look there is a incuse part next to the raised area...something hit it and lifted part of the metal up IMO
