Don't get too lost in the worry about White Balance - the goal is a setting that depicts the color of the coin accurately, and it doesn't matter what setting gets you there. I haven't noticed you mention a Custom setting, though - any reason why not?

Beyond that, your images have arrived. They lack a little bit of contrast (IMO), but the only improvements you can make to them is probably the job of postprocessing software. Time to look in that direction. Actually, it might be time to switch to RAW.

The camera does have a custom white balance setting and I will be playing with that more tomorrow. I have Photo shop and Image Ready for post processing but have been trying to keep that to a minimum. Lighting is the toughest issue with this camera as I have to be so close to the coin the body creates shadows when I try to get the high up.

Considering an upgrade to a Canon G12

Edit: typos
