So I've been doing some remodeling of my house took all the plaster walls out to replace with drywall happened to find an old Methodist newspaper from 1871 and a old owners manual for a horse drawn binder but that's not why I'm posting of course I just happen to come across an 1867 Shield nickel (no rays) in the wall hopping to get a rough estimate on quality and value.

I would not bother to value this coin.
It is much too valuable to you for that, far above it's numismatic worth.
Keep all of the information that relates to this find as well as presevation and copy of the printed material evidence.

I can't tell a story like that!

Oh trust me I was not intending to sell it in any way in fact I have a museum wall of all the things I found in the walls of my house I was just curious on value for informative purposes you know :D just looking for a rough estimate so I have some more information when people come over and ask about it.

Left is the Horse drawn binder owners manual the company that made the farm equipment is from the town my house is currently in and a added plus there is a review for said farm equipment from the farm I currently own.

The middle is the paper from 1871.

Top Right are some metal buttons with George Washington heads pressed into them ( still looking these up to find where they could have come from)

Bottom right is the 1867 nickel

Then to finish it off I used Black walnut wood that came from one of the many black walnut trees I have on the property the glass I used is museum quality glass.

I'd go XF details, environmental damage. Maybe about $40 retail.
