It is actually one of my pet peeves when dealers price their notes according to the serial number. There is one who is notorious for that. Always has something like 10000001 priced at 1000.01 and so forth.

The sale was an auction format with 15 bids. This wasnt a price set by the seller.

enworb, Quote: This wasnt a price set by the seller. There was a reserve on that auction at 555.55 SET by THE seller and IT sold at the minimum / lowest reserve price. Review the auction / bid history and you WILL figure it out.

Quote: Thats funny LOL I like that method The reason why I DON'T like that method is because usually that cute way of pricing tacks on an overage that the note usually isn't worth. In this case it actually was reasonable, but many are not. Quote: I do trade (buy and sell) with a dealer and the final / agreed upon price is some sort of fancy sn ...like 654.32, 355.53 etc.... Wouldn't surprise me if we are talking about the same person. Quote:Quote: The sale was an auction format with 15 bids. This wasnt a price set by the seller. Well, my original guess was that two different people had the cleverness to bid $555.55... which admittedly isn't too unlikely (though still rather weird). After looking at the bid history, I noticed that I was very obviously wrong; thanks to ceylon for the explanation of what actually happened!

I think it's great. Good marketing too. I wasn't going to buy it so I care not if it's overpriced.
