Hey all, Great forum!!
I have recently been given some pennies and medals, although this 1964 penny caught my eye.

Obverse:Help-With-1952*-Penny

Reverse:
Help-With-1952*-Penny

As you can see it has these markings on both sides of the coin. I have no idea what this is or what could have caused it. Has anyone come across something like this?
Would be great to hear some of your feedback
Thanks!

This is called a lamination, and is caused by an improper mix of alloys, which causes the metal to peel like that. Cool find!

To CCF.

Your penny is an example of Planchet peal or
some will call delamination.
Collectable by some, it's a keeper.

With George V1 head showing on Obverse
it can't be a '64 penny though.

This is quite a common error on pennies but I still like to collect them. I have quite a few and would deem yours a keeper if it were mine.
