Do not get into the habit of calling EVERYTHING that's not hub doubling or a repunched mintmark "machine doubling." Machine Doubling is but one cause of the appearance of doubling on a coin that is not a doubled die, and it has specific characteristics.
I'm sure, CC, you've said it many times before, but can you explain clearly the difference between Die Deterioration Doubling and Machine Doubling for our newer members and for us more seasoned members who can't remember too well? Pictures would be helpful.
