Really curious to see what you think of the dig (?) on the obverse and just how much it hurts the coin. Jim

Normally I'd grade it VG10+ but there is that dig and rim nicks. Considering you don't see these too often and the dig/rim nick is not that offensive I'd probably give it a net grade of VG8.

Personally, I would buy it if the opportunity arose (and if I had some cash )

Jim, if you can (or did) get this one at a good price due to wear and damage, you did great. This is a scarce date and collectors will more easily over look damage for a date they need to complete a series. I think VG-8 is about right.

Got it for $55. The gentleman I bought it from felt that the dig really hurt it. Sure did not bother me. He has an amazing collection of Seated half dimes and dime, most in vg-8 to vf. I purchased a few others and will buy more. Got a 1859 Seated dime in about AU except for a small mark on the reverse and it has been dipped. Still, a beautiful coin and I purchased it for $35. Will post it later.

$55! You did great! It is easily worth twice that in wholesale.
