I found this 1982 penny .The coloring and texture of the coin looks a lot different.It weighs 3.05 gr.
My question...what could had caused the penny to look like that?I guess it's PMD.Still interesting to know how this happen to the coin....

Possible acid bath... So many ways to mess up a coin, it makes it hard to be sure, but they are all woth the same amount that is struck on the reverse.

Whatever might have done it - it's still just a damaged coin.

This can also happen with cents that have been buried for a while in acidic soil.

Thanks a lot...Just wanted to know how this could had happend .I figured its just PMD.Since I made this my hobby ,I want to learn as much as possible about coins.You guys are a GREAT help. :)
