I believe pics of the whole coin are needed for grading if thats what you want.

I dont care about the grades....only if the center bands qualify for FB designation.
All the top and bottom bands on all 4 coins are perfect.I am only concerned with the center.

Took me a second too. I think they are asking about the "full band" identifier of Mercury dimes. The bottom two look better in my opinion, might even be called "split band" with bottom left the best I think.

#3 is the only one that really looks close to me. Maybe #4 different under different lighting, but no way on #1 or #2. #3 might make it, depending on the date. I don't like a more lenient standard for different dates, but that's the way the TPGs do it. If it's a 1945-P it's got a strong possibility. If it's a later date Denver issue, no way.

@CaptainFwiffo
Yes you are correct about different standards for different dates.1945-P is a miracle coin just for having a complete line across the center bands.
If you applied the full/split/rounded standard to 45-P's then the 45-P population would be about 3 coins.
I should have said that.....these are ALL 1945-P Merc's.

For 1945-P, these are all well struck enough to carry at least a small premium for their respective grades, IMO. #3 should be sent in, it has a chance.

I'm new to mercs, don't all 3 sets of bands have to be fully lined and distinguished? The center is the tuffy but sometimes the others aren't FB worthy either.

I'd be tempted to send in 3 and 4 for a shot. Lots of 45Ps come close, but IMO either it is, or not. Those trying to get big $ for "98%" or "close to" are out-there, IMO.

Pictures 1 and 3 are already in PCGS MS65 FULL BAND Holders.
Picture 4 is already in a PCGS MS66 FULL BAND Holder
Picture 2 is a coin I just picked up.

Pictures of the whole coin do not matter.....ONLY concerned with the SPLIT between the CENTER band only.

Small premium?

A Mint State FB '45-P is a two thousand dollar+ coin.

#2,which is my coin

i still dont get why we cant see the whole coin

your pic of your alleged coin is too dark on the left side to make out if the band splits all the way across

current view shows it does not

just send it in and slab it
but I have a feeling that even if a TPG stated it was not, you would insist it was so that being the case, just send it to all of them one at a time until, if ever, you get an FSB designation

Must admit you titling this thread "Can I get FB on any", and then later revealing that only one of the coins is even yours, is "bad form" IMO. Ask for help but "set up" the helpers with pics meant to show that "your coin" is as good as 3 others already having obtained a FB by a TPG. Strikes me as OFF and disengenuous, if not a bit low!

I still say 1, as well as your 2, don't look FB.
