i recently started to collect copper coins (pre-1997 CDN and pre-1982 USA) and now I have 100$ face value.

I'm looking to go through them to look for dates, could someone please give a list starting at 1937-1996 of pennies I should keep out.

like I know to keep out 1947, 1953-55 ect, for varieties but can somweone give me a list!

thanks

I humbly suggest that the Web ... and this forum ... are filled with info ...

It's not likely that any of us are going to take the time to create for you a personal listing of keepers ... wondering why you expect that?

Use the 'search' function ... do some homework ... we will reply to specific questions.

I did a search on ebay for cheapest price + shipping:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Charlt...271039167353

This book is worth every penny (no pun intended), and has everything you need to know from low mintages and varieties (with excellent photos).

I would start with http://coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php
Click on a date and it will show you any errors/varieties for that date.

lf you search on here l had a thread on this that had many good additions from others, there have also been a couple similar ones as well.

Let me get you started. What years to put aside and check - every one. Every year since 1937 has had varieties (started at '37 because he did) and almost every year has errors. Additionally its a shame you stopped your hoard at 96 since some very nice varieties occur after that and the more expensive ones are a decade later.

Happy hunting
