In about two weeks my girlfriend and I will be taking a trip to Savannah Georgia to visit my cousins new born daughter. I would like to visit some coin shops and possibly some historic sites. If any one knows of or has been to anything in or around the Savannah area please share! I really only get one vacation a year so I am trying to make the best of it. Thanks to everyone in advance

I'm assuming that Atlanta is too far of a drive for you?

I see no reason why one would ever leave Savannah just to visit Atlanta.

To answer the question, it is about a four hour drive, so it would be more than a day trip.

Yes Atlanta is a bit of a drive from where we will be, but if there are some nice attractions on the way there let me know also because we are driving there from Michigan so no harm in stopping in on the way there.

The reason I asked, is because I used to live in Atlanta, and there's quite a few neat attractions.

There's the Coca-Cola factory, Centennial Olympic Park, Federal Reserve Bank Money Museum, and the Atlanta Zoo Those are just the ones I know off the top of my head

Although it is not the most direct route, you can go from Michigan to Savannah via Atlanta.

It might be worth the effort, but plan on spending at least a full day because you will find a lot to do there.
