(yawn) Members of the CCF, at least those who have been here for a week, would not fall for this. The folk who will be hoodwinked do not bother to learn before they spend money. A shame, sure. But those who do not do their homework are doomed to make costly mistakes. (sigh) Thanks for a laugh...even if it means someone's disappointment.
OOH, OOH! Wait a week! We'll get a new comer here with that same tired question - "did I do good?" Is there a way to say, "You got taken!" and not make it hurt? I think not.

This is my favorite roll guy! He stamps the rolls BANK OF AMERICA SAN FRANSISCO if there is a VDB on the end and FEDERAL RESERVE DENVER if there is 1916 merc on the end. Guess it's supposed to be some sort of subliminal trick.

BTW, that coin on the end IS an S VDB, but fake. He seeds them there so that people post their "findings" in feedback. Helps him sell cheaper rolls.

Interesting mystery coins on third roll from left on the 2nd row from bottom and on the third roll from the right on the bottom row.

These are rolls from his grandfather who also collected civil war tokens, but they are also crimped by the federal reserve bank, and they are stamped by Bank of America San Fransisco. This guy can't even keep his story straight in the same listing.

Pretty sure Bank of America was only in california till the 50s and probably even had a different name. Interesting how stores in Colorado and Ohio were getting BoA rolls

Quote: Pretty sure Bank of America was only in california till the 50s and probably even had a different name. The Bank of Italy was founded by A. P. Giannini in 1904 in San Francisco to cater to Italian immigrants who were denied service by other banks. In 1928, A. P. Giannini merged with Bank of America, Los Angeles and consolidated it with his other bank holdings to create what would become the largest banking institution in the country. He renamed the Bank of Italy on November 3, 1930, calling it Bank of America. Bank of America is still in California. Ed ANA LM-3175
