How does one determine that coin rolls are coming from the Federal Reserve, and not rolled locally by Brinks, Garda, etc? I've searched probably a quarter million in change in the last 5 years, this has me stumped.
Or, is "The Fed" just slang for machine-wrapped?

the word "fed" might be where the coins of course all originated from? I always wondered this myself actually arent the places where the armored cars get their coins from fed depots? I assumed once garda or whoever picks up bags of coin they all get dumped into large vats (maybe brinks own their own ? I dont think garda does ? ) good question fist I wonder if we will ever have a real answer to this

I have found that "The Fed" is the term used by banks to describe where they get their cash orders from. In other words, an armored service.

The Federal Resevere doesn't wrap coins, they are distributed in huge bags.

Fed used to wrap the coins in the 60's. I've seen half rolls from the 50's with one of the Fed's branch name on.

The size of a standard pallet, or skid, inside a metal bin. They are then taken to the armored service facility, rolled and boxed. That is the way it was explained to me when I stopped at the local Brinks to inquire about buying coin directly from them a few years back.
