General thoughts on this one? will there be a 5pack issued? Good for a flip or more similar to the RCN and Roughriders coins of past?

2012 CFL loonie? I haven't seen anything on the master club page....only grey cup silver dollar and various coloured 25 cent CFL team coins.

New circulation loon due out today though I haven't seen any pics yet. It's being issued for the 100th anniversary of the Grey Cup.
I suspect yet another 5 pack will be issued but it is also included in the special edition circulation set released recently to MC.
I'd put it in the category with the RCN and Riders coins. Yawn.

FYI. This is from the RCM: "the unveiling is scheduled to take place at 5:45pm today, just before the Argos take on the Eskimos at Rogers Centre. The 100th Grey Cup $1 coin will be available through select Canada Post outlets, or look for it in your change." The actual coin can be seen on the mint's website in the special uncirculation set (I think it's still MC only though). edt: this was just posted http://www.mint.ca/store/news/news-...out+the+MintOnly available at post offices or 'in your change'. Guess I gotta go to the PO tomorrow.

They said at the release it would be available at 4000 post offices nationwide. The lineup for exchange was at least 300 people long (game day at the Rogers Centre). Several local MPs were doing the exchanges. I picked up my max 5. Quote:

Yes. Until now the design was blacked out. Some trivia from the release: * CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon struck the first one in Winnipeg * It will be used for the coin toss in the Grey Cup, and then go into the CFL Hall of Fame in Hamilton * From today (Edmonton at Toronto) through the Grey Cup, one of these coins will be used in every coin toss, in every game.

Are people allowed to post pictures of the silver dollar?

I think that the mint will open the latest coins up to the public tomorrow (or in about 2 hours) but they are MC only right now. That said, there is at least one dealer that has the special edition $1 on it's website now. Edit: It's also on ebay and one guy is shamelessly asking $250 for it.

Just picked up a Roll at the local Post Office. I won't bother with the special edition set.

Someone should tell the people who are bidding $30-50 per roll on ebay that they are doing it wrong.....

I find these "sports loonies" are the hardest ones to find in circulation. I have ONE roughriders loonie and maybe only 2-3 Montreal Canadiens loonies. Very low compared to the rest. The only thing harder to find is the 2012 "old style". I guess I'll try the post office.

I'm sorry, I don't buy things through the forum, or through ebay, & generally speaking the internet. Still, I'm wondering if any reputable website would sell them. But I appreciate the offer timnic44.
