Buddy at my work gave this to me. Yes, gave it to me lol. Hes an older guy and hes cool. Anyways he said do what you want with it.

I need your opinion.

I collect quarters and dimes. But I have no interest in halves at all anymore.
But if I keep the dime and quarter I have to break it from the set. So if I decide to sell, should I just sell it all as a set and
get a little more for my money? Rather than pulling out the half to sell and toss the penny into my copper pile?

Personally I find it a nice little set and would probably keep them together, but thats just me. I don't rule anything out of my collection but if you don't like halfs I guess it is your call.

Hm. I'm not into sets like this as the penny is copper ehich is cool. And the nickel is barely worth 5 cents lol.
I just figured I might be able to sell it to someone who appreciates sets like these as I am stictly into silver but. Well see...

Itll be hit or miss for if people prefer the set or a coin. The set is cool though and I wouldnt break it up unless you got an offer you couldnt refuse for a coin

Personally I'd keep it together. It's harder to make a set than to break one.

I've decided to sell it as a set. Someone will appreciate it more than me
I just recently made some "rules" or "plans" for my future Silver and Gold purchasing, and I've decided one of those rules were NO halves, unless I, 1: got one real cheap or, 2: got one for free . And would then sell so. I have to sell it as a set. I'll be putting that money towards possibly my first 5 oz bar.

Any opinions on the best place to buy a 5oz? online...

smokeriderdon, not sure. They just aren't as appealing to me as other coins. I save quarters and dimes because of the smaller denom, and also the occasional Morgan but, I'm not quite sure what it is. Could be the size and weight being not as "gurthy" as an ASE or Morgan. But too big to add to my small denom section. It's hard to explain.
When I first started collecting I bought a few. Couple Kennedys, few Franklins and 1 WLH. And although the WLH was a beautiful coin. I just didn't see more ever being in my collection.

Since a person gave you that, I'd expect you would want to just keep it as a momento of his generosity. Not sure how he feels or you but I think I'd feel hurt if I gave anything to anyone and they just sold it. I would think, Hey! I could have done that. Maybe he is not that way, nor you, but I'd feel lousy giving anything to anyone and they just got rid of it. Why accept something you just don't want?

We're really good buds at work. Like I said in my original post he said do what you want with it.

I told him today that it's on ebay. He said cool, and told me to buy him a coffee and a doughnut for work the morning after I sell it lol. But, he knows I will be purchasing Silver I like with that money and has no problem with it. We give and take from each other all the time.

Not sure if this is against CCF policy but, mods delete if so but, here it is if anyone is interested.
