What is the best way to open wrapped coins - your fingernail, knife, scissors, teeth, hit them on a sharp edge?

I asking about the fed wrapped rolls. The customer wrapped rolls generally are easy unless they have three miles of tape on them.

On String and sons I either peel the wrapper away or bang the middle of the roll on a corner of a cheap table. It will damage the table over time. This breaks the roll in half and you can usually push the coins out of each half roll easy enough. If I peel the wrapper away it's easier to edge search quickly. If I bang it in half it's easier to face search.

When roll searching JFKs I insert a knife blade (making sure that it is not a good looking half on the end) between the top helf and the upper edge of the paper on the end. I push the knife through then lift up. This makes a rough "pull tab" that I pull down the side. The roll is then loosened enough around the halbves that I can easily push the rest of them out through the other end of the roll. It sounds like a lot, but it takes just a second to do.
Also, it is actually rare I end up touching the half with the knife - there is enough room between the actual end of the paper and the half that you need not touch it.

I unroll the end with my fingers. It saves space because 99%it of the time they all go back in the wrapper.

Just crack two rolls together in the middle - very easy and they split instantly.

Since I just look for silver, with bank rolled coins I use my seam ripper or some small scissors to gently pick/unravel the rolled ends until they are in the shape of the rest of the tube. Holding the roll in the palm of my hand I unroll the wrapper just enough to see the coins, and look at the edges for silver. Then I roll them back up, fold the ends down, and apply a bit of tape if needed. That way I don't need to have a supply of coin holders, and the whole time the dimes stay lined up in row--unless I accidently drop them!
After I load all the searched rolls back into the box they came in, I take a wide marker and draw a thick line down each long row, end to end, to quickly mark each roll.

Oh, and since I don't reroll pennies, I just rip them (bank rolled ones) open.

On the machine wrapped paper rolls, I use my fingernail to pull up each end of the roll where the seam is. This makes 2 little flaps of paper that stick out. I grasp one of these with my thumb and pointer finger, and the other with the palm of my hand and ring finger then just unwrap it by pulling. This allows all the coins to stay in the shape of the roll for easier viewing. This is especially useful if I am just edge searching for silver. If I dont see any right away, I pour the coins from hand to hand a few times listening for silver.

I just carefully slice down the side of the machine roll, open like a baked potato, edge scan, and place back in the box to deliver to the bank.
