Was happy to receive my Grey Cup silver dollar today -- the RCM must have started shipping on the 28th like they indicated on the website. I seem to recall they were prompt with the Calgary Stampede silver dollar as well. Glad to see they aren't having production problems with their standard coins! As is usually the case, the coin looks better in person vs. the artist depiction on the website. The contrast between the mirrored fields and the frosted design elements is definitely full, deep cameo. Nice coin! Here a quick image of mine. Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! Great looking coin. I would like to see one in hand.
Anyone see one yet at your local post office?

Anyone see one yet at your local post office? Saw one at my local PO on August 28 when I was there to look up some grey cup circulation coins

Got mine from the mint today too. Interesting new packaging....a box instead of a sleeve. Love the coin!

The detail on the cup bowl is amazing (most of which is also on the background field).
Now, if they could have somehow micro-printed the silver winner plates (I assume the text is a layout representation, rather than real text), THAT would have been a design for the ages.
It does make a nice contrast to the circulation loonie, which has a stylized cup.

I received mine yesterday and am pleased with it. The frosty relief of the cup really pops out at you. Very eye appealing.

What is the MSRP on this coin? The RCM site said I had to be a Masters Club member to view it. Is it available to the general public? Also, as an aside, should a government mint allow exclusive access to products for a fee?

@Anjohl: I'm surprised you are having trouble viewing the coin, it's been in general release since last Tuesday (8/28) - no club membership required. If the website isn't working for you, give the RCM a call. You shouldn't have any trouble ordering the coin.

I'm surprised this coin is doing so well, usually sporting coins don't typically do this well.

The Canadiens 100 silver dollar did well too, and that had a 15000 mintage I believe.
It's not just a sport coin. It is a silver dollar. I, like many, have been collecting these since we were kids.

Perhaps the $69 price + silver/gold starting to fly again, got some people to dive in too.
Obviously these are never a bullion play, but people still may feel prices are a better value when bullion is heading up versus the stagnation of the last year or so.
ECB + Fed easing talk -> Printing money -> Currency devaluing -> Higher gold/silver

I saw it tonight in person, and I really want one. I think it beats the 1812 Dollar, but isn't quite as nice as the Montreal Canadians dollar.
