obviously ATB and the territory coins are worth keeping because of low mintages but are years like 1968,68,77 worth keeping?

There's a guy here called CladKing who knows exactly which dates are hard to find in higher grades and well struck. Demand hasn't caught up with supply yet, but if history is any guide, it's only a matter of time.

if I found AU or better quarters from those early years, I wouldn't spend them.

oops I meant 1968,69 and 77. I was fairly convinced.. if the '69 - 290,584,000 compared to say a '65 - 1,819,717,540. whats that like 1.5 billion more created. it seems like it would have more value. I guess not though..

Ture MS65 and better well struck examples of clad Washington quarters are always worth keeping ... but I doubt you will find these in circulation today.

If you have some of these keep them ... otherwise ... spend them.

Photos would help of any 'keepers' that you are thinking of.

There are lots of very desirable clad quarters all the way down to nice attractive VG. Most of the regular dates have to have something special to make them desirable though like being well struck, PL, clean, well centered, Gemmy, or a date that wasn't saved. Something like an '82-P is desirable even in AU or XF if it's very well made. A '72-D would have to be solid Gem to be of note.

Of course, I collect these from circulation and am pretty proud even of these nice XF's and lower end Uncs. I started the circulation set in '97 so a few of the later ones are Gems.

Clads are very overlooked and people are going to be surprised by even the prices of XF coins if demand materializes. Simply stated almost every single eagle reverse quarter is scarcer in Unc than a 1950-D nickel! It's the high demand for the nickel that causes the higher price. Some of these are scarcer in nice attractive BU+ than an '09-S VDB cent!!

People call this "conditionally rare" but even the legitimately rare clad goes for a song.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

If I into original rolls of those dates, I would stick a few
in the safe. One day these modern clad coin will be much sought after by collectors.
