I have the 2000P 5c, which is common. Could somone please rank the rarity and their possible mintages? Is the rarest the quarter or was it the 50 Cent piece?

I believe 50¢ outnumber the 25¢ caribou by a factor of 10

Has anyone here seen the 2000P half on sale? Were the quarters minted for circulation?

I believe the 2000P Fifty Cent coin has a population of about 240 or 250. All of them were encased in desk top clocks. I only recall seeing one or two for sale over the years.

I've been looking on ebay for a 200P 50c for several months now. No sign of one so far. Charlton 2012 says 'Only two known' for the 2000P 25c.

IMO, NBU clock bits, and backdoor test tokens,I can think of a lot more desirable coins for the money, their only significance is their rarity.Rarity for it's own sake can easily be acheived in any number of collectible hobbies.

How many 5 cent pieces do you have? Did they come in rolls?

I only have 10 5 cent pieces. They must have come in rolls at some point.

I have about 8 2000P 5c pieces, pulled from at least 200 rolls for that.. It seems the 1977 Low 7 is a lot more available than the 2000P (I have 38 of those from the same rolls)

According to the Coins and Canada website mintages, the mintage is actually pretty high.

I pull a 2000P nickel about once every other box. Not at all rare, but greatly outnumbered by the non-P variety.

I wouldn't consider a mintage of 4.8 million high when the non p version of 2000 is 105 million. It's even lower than the 1970 mintage
And it must be of some what of a rarity if people pay up to $5 a piece for it

and backdoor test tokens
Ah. I had wondered if the 2000p 25c was a backdoor job. Is the 10c failed returns, or a monster backdoor run? Why are they legal to own?
