Hello fellow coin collectors. I've had this coin since about 1968. Would like some opinions as to it's authenticity and condition and what I should do next if I wanted to sell. Thanks in advance. Can provide higher resolution pictures if needed.

Don

The coin appears genuine to me. The diagnostics look correct: E pluribus unum is separated from the back, roughness on the back of the neck and hind leg, and what appears to be a arc of metal under the buffalo. It might grade F-12. If you wanted to sell, get it certified by either PCGS, NGC, or ANACS. PCGS tends to bring more money followed by NGC and then ANACS. It's a nice coin. Did you find this coin or did you buy it?

I purchased a book of Buffalo nickels from a friend back when I was about 14. I went through each coin and found this one. Back then even a 3 legged wasn't worth all that much. Of course the boy's parents wanted it back when they new what it was. Never did play with that boy or his brothers again after that for some reason. It looks genuine to me also but it has some scratches before the hind legs that are curious looking.

Yes, send it on in to ANACS and get it graded.

It has been graded by ICG now and grades F-15. I have put it for sale on ebay as I need some cash to start a new job.
