Geez Larry a jackpot what I don't understand is how the person did not notice all this change clanking into the reject tray

It was pretty amazing. I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted the full reject bin. But I get more excited when I find a silver dime or an old penny in the reject bin. (But the change will get put to good use).  I am guessing with this amount of coins being rejected there must have been a huge amount of coins being counted by the machine. |

Today: 1942 Australian 3 pence. 925 silver; apparently this is considered a scarce coin, with only 528k minted.  |

I gotta admit it was pretty sweet.  And today I went to the local grocery store and checked the reject bin on my way in with nothing in it. Took another look at it on the way out and still empty - looked down and there's a dollar bill on the floor. Nice. Edited by Larryh86GT

I found a very usual appearing dime and nickel in the reject tray and a beat up penny on the machine itself. My first Coinstar finds ever! I'm rich!

Found two dimes in the coinstar machine at the grocery store this morning. They were not in the reject tray but stuck in the chute thing. Had to use my knife to pry them out. There was one more coin (either a dime or quarter) but it feel through and I couldn't retrieve it.

There's this old guy who works at my local grocery store who I KNOW has been taking the unclaimed rejects, because I saw him grab something out of the machine last week. In my frustration, I threw a random Chuck E Cheese token I found by the self checkouts into the reject bin, and wouldn't you know it, some woman comes up and dumps some change into the machine. She took the rejects including the Chuck E Cheese token but in a way I was satisfied. I successfully pawned off a worthless token onto a random person which is better than getting the token back along with some messed up change!

Believe it or not, I finally scored big time again at my regular grocery store! When I returned the cart, I saw a guy dumping change so instead of watching him I waited inside for him to go to the customer service desk. As soon as the coast was clear, I went over to the machine, saw he left the bag on the counter (which is usually a good sign) and left even more in the reject bin! I found all the following:
$3.50 in a Canadian change (if I'm ever in Canada I have enough for a cup of coffee!)
A 20 pence coin, and 2 5 pence coins from the U.K.
A SEPTA token
63 cents in ordinary change, in various stages of decay
I've noticed that if someone can't be bothered to throw their trash away (if they're dumping change from a plastic bag rather than a coin jar) they usually don't bother taking the rejects so I usually get excited if I come in to see that someone didn't clean up after themselves at the machine!

Found 3 Quarters,3 Dimes,1 Nickel and 3 Pennies in the reject tray today. No silver just regular money.
